DNS & Yoga Introductory Series
DIGITAL VERSION NOW AVAILABLE
Yoga can be a wonderful movement practice for promoting strength, flexibility and awareness, but it can be difficult for many of us to learn in a way that optimizes its effectiveness and minimizes our tendency to get injured doing it. This is because most adults and even many children have developed non-optimal mechanics and dysfunctional movement habits that typically serve as the basis for their execution of complex and challenging yoga poses, and this is a disaster waiting to happen!
In this 5 class intro series Alignment Lab trainer Robert Brook covers the basics of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) and guides students through a progression of postures designed to prepare them for the practice to yoga. DNS is an extremely effective way of reawakening the innate functional movement patterns that are the key to success in yoga.
